The Drop Zone is located at the
western end of the runway at the
California City Municipal Airport.
The Skydiving Operation calls a huge
20,000 sft complex its home, with
plenty of parking right at the door.

From the parking lot you'll enter the office and manifest area, where Alberta and Antoinette reign. They are ready to help with any questions or requests you might have.

Once through the office, you are facing the hangar and main packing area, 3,000 sft of carpet to spread out on.

Upstairs is the kitchen and eating area,
where you often find Robert cooking up a
tasty breakfast or lunch for someone.
Made to order and usually served with a
joke or two.
A big BBQ outside on the deck is available
for use if you want to cook some dinner.

Located in the SE
corner of the
building are the
Rest rooms and
CLEAN, HOT showers.

The SW corner is occupied by two dedicated classrooms, stocked with TV, VCR, charts, books, videos and other teaching aids, that are routinely used during a First Jump Course or the Tandem Orientation.

Hello and Welcome to Skydive California City!

Our drop zone operates 2 jump aircraft on a regular basis, a Cessna 206 and a deHavilland Twin Otter, the 'Desert Express'.
The general mood at this drop zone is very laid back and friendly, although student training is a priority.

Skydive California City is a USPA Group member DZ and complies with all applicable BSR's and FAR's, regarding skydiving operations. For example, as a licensed skydiver you must be current and have had your reserve repacked by a licensed rigger within the past 120 days.

The regular crowd of skydivers here consists of a nice RW and Free Fly mix, with a few birdman suits or trackers usually hitching a ride to altitude together with AFF students and Tandem jumpers.

Two landing areas provide enough room for everyone to land without feeling crowded; the student target and the experienced landing area.
The early bird flies every Saturday and Sunday.

Come join the fun!
There's lots of camping places around here and the desert is always a cool place to explore.

We hope to see you soon.
Blue skies!

Outside is the big, grassy backyard where you can pitch a tent, have a picnic or a party and enjoy the swimming pool during the summer months.
There's a couple of electrical outlets available for RV's or you can park at the RV park with full hookups at the main terminal, 300 yards down.
